Rebelutionary Testimonials: Part 4

R

Editor’s Note: as TheReb as an active site draws to a close, we wanted to give as many rebelutionaries as possible a chance to share how the movement has impacted them. Our hope is that as you read the following testimonials, you will be encouraged to live out the message of TheReb—rebelling against society’s low expectations and doing hard things for the glory of God—even after it closes. Stay tuned over the next four weeks (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to see more posts like this one as we celebrate 19 years of TheRebelution!

“Writing for the Reb has grown me so much, in so many ways. When I first submitted in 2022, I was emailed back and asked if I was able to incorporate more personal experience in my article. This stretched me as a writer, and I can say that all the articles I’ve written for the Reb have done the same. The rejections helped me grow and reminded me not to wrap up my identity in my writing–and I learned that rejection can truly be a beautiful, healthy thing, and I think this was part of the growth I’ve gleaned from the Reb. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything!” – Caitlyn Koser

“A few years ago, I picked up a copy of Do Hard Things that had been sitting on my bookshelf for a while. I read a few chapters, then decided that it wasn’t for me. The message sounded too old and too tough for an eleven or twelve-year-old. This could have been the end of the story, but luckily, it wasn’t. I don’t remember how much time passed before I picked up the book again, but when I did, I was inspired. Instead of finding a harsh message I found something with which I could relate. There were, in fact, other teens like me who wanted to do something bigger! It was thrilling, and I was excited to do hard things. Little did I know The Rebelution would impact me in more than one way. In the book they talked about a blog, so I decided to check it out. I found The Rebelution at the end of last year and was surprised and delighted to find they allowed people to submit content. Over the past year I had been doing some Christian non-fiction writing but had never been published. And here was my chance right in front of me. Mid-January I submitted my first article for publication: 3 Things You Can Do To Glorify God Everyday. I’m sure my screen time skyrocketed from checking my inbox so frequently. When I finally got the email that my article was going to be published, I screamed. I was so happy! This first victory gave me courage. I kept writing. I’m sad to see the blog go, but I know the movement won’t. This message and these victories will stay with me for the rest of my life. For once a Rebelutionary, always a Rebelutionary.” – Ellie Anderson

“I found theReb as I was entering my teen years, a tumultuous time of change, questions, and growth. More than once, the testimonies and encouragement from other teenagers and young adults bolstered my soul and gave me strength to push forward. Knowing that I was not alone and there was an entire movement of teenagers fighting for the Kingdom alongside me saved me from some dark places more times than I can count! Now at 21, I’m so grateful for theReb and its tremendous impact on my spiritual journey and relationship with God.” – Isabelle

“…. The Reb is proof of what God can accomplish starting with two teens. I’m one teen myself. I know a couple more. Imagine all that we can do, if we just listen to His voice.
Thanks to everyone on the Reb for the godly wisdom you’ve poured into our lives. It’s priceless. I’ll keep doing hard things.” – Bethany
